Rajasthan Day Celebrations Begin In Jaipur

In significance of  Rajasthan’s 68th foundation day along with the aim of showcasing Rajasthan’s culture & heritage and reviving the traditional sports, cuisines and art, a week long festival celebrating Rajasthan Day have begun in Jaipur.

On 30th March 1949, Rajasthan was formed after a merger of 22 princely states. After independence in 1947 huge efforts were made by the government for uniting the divided states of Rajasthan. The process of integration that started from March 17, 1948 lasted up-till November 1, 1956. The then 19 provinces of Rajasthan at the time of independence are now a united state comprising 33 districts.

A host of festivities like craft bazaars, food festival, night bazaar, sports competitions, spectacular fireworks, mega cultural concerts and competitions for school students will be organized during the four day celebrations at various venues. A much awaited Bollywood night show is scheduled at the Albert hall. Singers including Arijit Singh, Mukhtyar Ali, Chugge Khan and many others are going to give Jaipur an exhilarating performance.

The Army and the Air force will keep you amazed with their no lesser than Everest high shows at the SMS stadium. Furthermore classical dance performances, theater festivals and a short film festival will be held at the Birla Auditorium. The JDA polo ground will host sports activities including a horse show, para troopers show, a  mass band display and a golf tournament along with many others.
