Kishangarh airport inaugurated today

The Kishangarh airport has been inaugurated today by Jayant Sinha, minister of state for civil aviation along with the chief minister Vasundhara Raje at 2:30 pm. The airport has been given the licence by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This license is required for airlines to operate at any airport. Moreover, DGCA, has also granted the permission for operation of 50-seater aeroplane between Kishangarh and Delhi. The flights should start operating from 25 October. The airport will have six check-in counters and the capacity of 150 passengers.

In the days to come, regular commercial flights will begin, as airlines will soon be submitting the proposals to the airport authority for starting their operations. Apart from Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, and Kota, Kishangarh has become the seventh town in the state to have an airport. Many of these cities are already connected via intra-state airline services. Notably, this will be an important airport of the country as it will be feeding the pilgrims of Ajmer and Pushkar. Earlier, VIP passengers were using helipad in Ghughra village in Ajmer. This step will boost business in this city which is famous for its marble. Tourists wishing to visit Kishangarh and nearby cities like Ajmer and Pushkar will also be benefited.

Delhi-Bikaner Daily Flight Takes Off Today

The much awaited flight between India’s capital Delhi and Bikaner, Rajasthan took off today. The flight will take off from the Delhi Airport at 1:30 PM and reach Bikaner at 2:45 PM. It will fly back from Bikaner at 3:15 PM to arrive in Delhi giving the city of Bikaner easy access. The flight will function daily. An airline associated with Air India will provide the service. The two cities are separated by a distance of about 450 kilometers while it is an overnight journey by train.

Soon, the intra-air services will be extended on six new routes including direct connectivity to New Delhi and Ahmedabad. The state government gave consent to this proposal on principle and forwarded the same to the Union Civil Aviation Ministry for necessary formalities. As per the letter shot to the civil aviation by chief secretary Ashok Jain, it has been decided to expand the intra-air services on six more routes which are Jaipur-Kota, Delhi-Sawai Madhopur, Delhi-Kisahangarh, Delhi-Shri Ganganagar, Jodhpur-Ahmedabad and Jaipur- Jodhpur- Jaisalmer.

So far the service are available on three routes from Jaipur to Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur. The air service was launched by in October, 2016 and Supreme Airlines was commissioned for operation of flights on a regular basis on these routes. In the previous Budget the CM had announced to expand intra-air services to other cities and the letter written by the CS comes in its continuance. In the letter, the CS has recommended for the same air operator to run the operations on new routes. In the letter it has also been requested that the department commence flight operations immediately after completion of necessary formalities and receipts of mandatory approvals and no objections certificates (NOC) from respective organisations by the air operator.

This move will boost tourism in the desert state as Sawai Madhopur, where Ranthambore National Park is located, will get connected to Delhi. Also, Ajmer, known for Dargah and Puskhar, have also been proposed to be connected under the proposal. Two states, Delhi and Gujarat come under the expansion of the services fetching more tourists and business too.

Ganganagar expands airstrip to connect with Jaipur, Delhi

Rajasthan’s Ganaganagar city is all set to expand its airstrip to facilitate intra-state air services connecting the district with Jaipur and Delhi. A proposal to this effect has been prepared and would be submitted to the civil aviation department soon. There is already an airstrip at Lalgarh and district administration plans to expand it both ways for landing of commercial flights.

The current airstrip at Lalgarh has a length of only 1,300 meters on which only small planes can land. For landing of commercial flights, the airstrip should be at least 1,600 meters. So, district administration plans to expand it on eastern and western directions. Expanding 300 meters in both directions would be sufficient. The air services should be operational by 2018. The first flight of an intra-state air service from Jaipur to Udaipur via Jodhpur was launched on 04 October, 2016. The Government has tied up with Supreme Transport Organisation Pvt Ltd., to operate air services between different cities in the state. Several locations of world-class tourism, religious, historical and heritage importance would benefit by these air operations.

 

Ajmer airport to be operational from Independence Day

Ajmer and Pushkar are the major tourism cities of Rajasthan that attract thousands of tourists, devotees, as well as foreign dignitaries from across the world. Although the cities are very well connected by Road and Rail, but the convenience of air travel demanded an airport in Ajmer. Ajmer airport in Kishangarh was, however, long due since 1982. The good news is that it is in the last phase of its completion now. The airport will tentatively start trial this year in mid-July and possibly services will start from August 15 with the maiden flight to Delhi.

The airport will also connect other cities like Jaipur, Chennai, Mumbai and other destinations. Some companies have already assured of providing services from Ajmer in a charter plane with 70-80 seats. Sources added security measures like scanners and security doors are already installed in the airport and terminal is ready for passengers. A team of Jaipur airport authority had also visited to verify the standard and quality of services. Ajmer airport has already got the international code by international civil aviation organisation and it is also decided that Rajasthan Armed Core (RAC) will be responsible for security of the airport.

With the roll-out of intra-State air services in Rajasthan, major tourist and business destinations in the desert State have got better air connectivity, giving benefit to tourism. The State government’s Civil Aviation Department signed an air services operation agreement with the Supreme Airlines. According to which flights from Jaipur to Jodhpur and Udaipur are already operational in the first phase, while air services for other cities will become operational now.

In the first phase Jaipur, Udaipur and Jodhpur were added. While Jaisalmer has been added in the second phase. The Civil airport of Jaisalmer is now buzzing with passengers as the much awaited air services is now operational. The booking counter is now open at Naal airport, Jaisalmer. The nine-seater plane of Supreme Airlines has started regular flight operations from/to Jaisalmer, 20 February, 2017 on-wards.
